okay - just experimenting now with this blog thing - see if I can put a pic in a post. Okay looks like this is working - Helen and Nikki having fun at the Dells.

WHOOPS - I lost my blog

or was that my brains - lol! I evidently should not be attempting this blog thingy since I haven't made a post since July 4th and then had all kinds of fun getting back into it (I have to change the title to something I can remember!!)
I wanted to do this really, and will just have to become more diligent.
Since July 4th things have been a whirlwind - typical hectic summer. Doesn't seem to be going to slow down soon - we are off to another parade today. Helen in the firetruck again.
Next Friday we take Dan down to UW Platteville, I am more nervous than him I think. All in stride for him I think. Though I do think he is starting to realise how much he has to do to get ready this week.
And then just a few days until I send Helen to Kindergarten. Two major changes for the family in one week!
I signed up to be Daisy Scout Leader (co-leader) with my friend/longtime daycare provider Sarah. This will be an experience! Both my daughter Helen and her daughter Kenadi will be Daisies.
And I have also signed up to be a co-teacher for Sunday School (Pre-K) - not sure about this one yet.

Independence Day

So far our Independence Day has been fun - just the three of us as DS has gone off with friends to Minnesota to some demo derby We had good chicken, Helen had fun at the kiddie games - coin/sawdust pile, golf, cork gun, football toss, spin wheel etc. and won some flarp - silly putty kinda stuff that ....well....farts! Yes, we have been most amused by it all afternoon.
Then the highlight for Miss H so far was not watching the parade, but getting to ride in a fire truck IN the parade with her daddy - most exciting! I had to ride too in case they got a call and he had to turf us out half way round the route!

Just got back from Pizza, and now taking it easy before the fireworks - we did get a downpour of rain that probably lasted - a minute!! Enough to cool things off which was fine with me!
